Baby Đào Duy Khang, 13 months old, is from Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu Province. When he was born, he was as healthy as any other baby. However, at 5 months old, while feeding him milk, his mother suddenly noticed an unusual reflection in his tiny eyes. A deep sense of worry led the family to rush him to the hospital — only to be devastated by the diagnosis: Duy Khang has retinoblastoma in both eyes.
 
Since then, he has undergone six rounds of systemic chemotherapy at the Oncology Hospital. Yet the disease remains persistent: his left eye is at stage D, and his right eye is at stage E. Doctors explained that in order to preserve his vision, Duy Khang needs intra-arterial chemotherapy — an advanced treatment method, and also the last remaining chance to save his eyesight.
 
Duy Khang is the first child in the family. Due to their financial hardship, the whole family is currently living in his grandmother’s house. Although she is already elderly, her love for her sick grandson pushes her to keep working as a cleaner at a nearby primary school, just to earn a little extra income. Duy Khang’s father works as a welder, earning around 9 million VND per month. His mother has had to stay home to care for him and take him to hospitals for continuous treatment.
 
The family’s small savings have gradually been drained after each round of medical care. In the coming time, Duy Khang needs approximately six sessions of intra-arterial chemotherapy (or until the tumor is under control), one session every month — with costs far beyond what the family can afford.
 
The family sincerely hopes to receive the support and compassion of kind-hearted donors, so that Duy Khang may have a chance to hold on to the light — so that those innocent eyes can still see his mother, see his father, and see the life ahead.

The estimated total budget is based on the initial treatment plan provided by the doctor.
The budget may be adjusted following subsequent follow-up appointments.
At the end of the treatment process, the final expenses will be updated accurately and substantiated with medical records from the hospital providing care for the children.

    Duy Khang is truly one of the fortunate children diagnosed with retinoblastoma, as he has been able to preserve both of his eyes. So far, he has undergone two rounds of intra-arterial chemotherapy, and wonderful news has arrived: ultrasound results show that the tumors in both eyes are now under control and responding well to treatment. The journey will continue, but these positive signs are a powerful source of hope, giving the family strength to move forward and look toward the day when the tumor is fully calcified.

    The joy was overwhelming when his mother received the results. Unable to hide her happiness, she quickly shared the good news with the Fund and expressed her heartfelt gratitude:
    “Thanks to the support of the Fund and kind donors, my child has been able to achieve such positive results.”
